On September 2, 2006, R-Style had the opportunity to grace the stage with the legendary Mr. Al Green. The concert was held at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA. R-Style performed a 30-minute show to a roaring crowd of approximately 3,000 attendees, most of whom had never seen or heard of R-Style before. In the middle of the second song, the crowd rose to their feet and began to party with the band ... screaming, whistling, and giving back the energy that R-Style was exhibiting on stage. During a break on one song, the crowd began to yell and clap so loud that the band had to wait to go on with the show. This opportunity was second-to-none and many thanks go out to Clark Connections and The Mid-America Center for giving R-Style the opportunity! Please view excerpts from the concert on the site.
The R-STYLE BAND is a multi-talented group made up of six members, all originating from the Omaha area. R-STYLE is a conglomerate of two bands that formed back in the 80's. Former members from the bands ETC and JAM Squad combined in 2004 to form the high-energy, show band today known as R-STYLE.
The band takes it's musical flavor from a wide variety of artists such as: The Temptations, Kool and the Gang, James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, and Prince, just to name a few. R-STYLE prides itself on the ability to be very versatile in their music repertoire, ranging from smooth oldies, including a Motown review, and old standards. R-STYLE also includes the latest Top-40 hits to give the band a well-rounded selection in their play list.
